It's a recording of a man operating a chainsaw in a forest near an underground repair station. I've been biking through the forest whe i heard the chainsaw, so i stopped and recorded 7 minutes of him cutting off branches, tembers and walking around a bit. You can heat the chainsaw, natural forest reverb, sometimes a plane flying by or an undergroud train. The recording was made from around 20~30 meters from the sound source. Recorded with a zoom h2 (rear mics, hi gain, 96/24). Originally a 96khz / 24-bit wav file. Converted to flac using audacity.

Here's a recording of a small campfire in the forest at night made in saint-urbain (charlevoix) pq, canada in a night of august 2014. You can hear wind in the leaves and crickets in the background. It was made with a sound devices usbpre2 into a tascam dr-680 (spdif) and 2 microphones studio project c1 in ortf stereo pattern. A little correction was made in equalization of the sample and the volume was augmented w limiter. It's in 24 bits 96khz , 40hz low cut.

I think it is very difficult to record the “spirit” and unique sound of the wind. This is pure natural wind sounds (no layering, no post-processing, no synthesizers). Recorded in sweden september of 2007 in a wet cold beautiful colourful forest, with all kind of trees, far away from any traffic or human sounds.
